It's 7:36 pm in Italy but the morning time in sunny California where I was yesterday. Today was definitely an interesting day filled with little sparks of excitement for everything to come. It took me three flight hops to get here, and to be honest I think I prefer it that way as opposed to one long and straight flight. Getting to the airport was fairly easy. Leaving the one person that supported me the most about my goal to study abroad was not as easy. I blame the sad piano music that was playing for a few of my tears. Nonetheless I got through my flights, on time, and ready to rock and roll when I reached Rome. I must say, the flights are pretty cool when you can't figure out what are clouds versus snow. The cities started to look like those little towns you make during Christmas time with a train that weaves around in it.
Also, the airport at Dublin was just as I hoped it would be. It was filled with Guinness everything! It was almost like a mall in there. Pretty wicked. Once I got off the flight in Rome though, I realized that my luggage had been lost. I gave myself two options: get mad or get glad. I chose the latter. (I type this with a big smile on my face as I sit in my roommate's clothes that she kindly offered to me. ) I then found my "shuttle" ride that ended up being a Mercedes that sped off to campus. Note to self: don't drive in Rome. They're crazy in traffic haha. After about 5 hours I finally made to my new spacious dorm room where I reside now. We have 3 bedrooms, one bathroom, 6 beds, a living room, a kitchen, a room to hang clothes to dry, and balcony with a view of the Vatican.
Anywho that's my first update on Italy! I'm running out of battery so I'll have to continue later but I hope you enjoyed the pictures! Don't worry there will be more to come! <3
